Carrying the Legacy Forward
Leigh Osta has been the heart of this business since day one. She and Gus opened the doors together in 1986, and for nearly four decades she helped build Volusia Gold & Diamond into the store Daytona trusts — raising four children along the way, many of whom grew up right here on the sales floor.
Today, Leigh leads Osta Jewelers as president. After losing Gus in 2024, she made a promise: the store he built would not just survive — it would grow. Under her leadership, the family has refreshed the showroom, deepened the store's roots in the community, and joined Daytona traditions like Bike Week for the first time, all while keeping the standard Gus set: honest answers, fair prices, every single time.

MEET DAVID MICHAEL
Next Generation Gemologist
David Osta learned this business the way it's meant to be learned — at his father's side. For more than a decade, he traveled the world with Gus, sourcing diamonds and gemstones directly from the cutters and dealers, learning to judge a stone with his own eyes before any certificate confirmed it. That education became official when David earned his credentials from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the most respected gemological authority in the world.
Today, David serves as our in-house GIA-certified gemologist and jeweler. When you sit down with him, you're not talking to a commissioned salesperson reading from a card — you're talking to someone who has held thousands of stones, knows exactly what makes one worth your money, and will tell you the truth either way. From custom engagement rings to expert repairs and honest appraisals, David handles it in-house.
He's also building what comes next: a signature Osta design line, crafted here in Daytona Beach — his father's standards, carried into a new generation.

Where We Started
Osta Jewelers began in 1986, when Gus and Leigh Osta opened Volusia Gold & Diamond on International Speedway Boulevard in Daytona Beach, Florida. Gus, who immigrated to America from Lebanon, built the store the old-fashioned way: fair prices, straight talk, and treating every customer like a friend.
Over four decades, Volusia Gold & Diamond became a Daytona Beach institution, the place locals came for engagement rings, Rolex watches, honest gold buying, and jewelry that marked the milestones of their lives. Racing families during Speedweeks, riders during Bike Week, snowbirds, and generations of Volusia County families all walked through the same doors.
From Volusia to Osta
Today the Osta family carries that legacy forward under the name that was behind it all along: Osta Jewelers. Leigh Osta leads the business, and her son David Osta, a GIA-certified gemologist who spent more than a decade traveling the world sourcing diamonds and gemstones alongside his father, serves as our in-house jeweler.
The name on the sign has changed. Nothing else has. The same family greets you, and the same promise stands: you will always get an honest answer at Osta Jewelers. We honor Gus in everything we do. His handshake built this business, and his standard, treat people right every single time, is the standard we hold today.

Few businesses are as woven into Daytona Beach as this one. For 40 years we've been a fixture of International Speedway Boulevard — a few miles from the Speedway, a short drive from the World's Most Famous Beach — through hurricanes, race weeks, booms, and rebuilds.
